Jim’s specialty is applying operations research and advanced analytics to solve difficult business problems. He is the Principal Consultant, Xpress Optimization at FICO where his role is to help organizations understand the potential of applying optimization methods to quickly solve tough business problems.
Formerly, Jim was Manager Advanced Analytics at Land O’Lakes where he applied operations research and advanced analytics methodologies to solve a broad range of strategic, tactical and operational business problems in the CPG and agribusiness sectors.
A long-time member of INFORMS, Jim is the 2016 president of the Analytics Section. He is also a member of the core group developing the Guide to the Analytics Body of Knowledge and has been a key volunteer in the development of the INFORMS Analytics Maturity Model.
Jim has a Master’s degree in Forestry – Operations Research from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
