INFORMS inaugurated the Fellow Award in 2002 to recognize several categories of outstanding achievements in the field, including academic research in operations research; the practice of operations research; operations research on the management level of organizations; education in the O.R. field; and service to the association and the profession.

This year's awards were presented at an October 21 luncheon given during the society's annual meeting in Atlanta.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS®) is an international scientific society with 10,000 members, including Nobel Prize laureates, dedicated to applying scientific methods to help improve decision-making, management, and operations. Members of INFORMS work in business, government, and academia.
