INFORMS BD. OF DIRECTORS TAKES OFFICE IN 50TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR OF ORGANIZED OPERATIONS RESEARCH IN U.S. (January 7, 2002)

Michael A. Trick is the new President of INFORMS. Dr. Trick is also President of the Carnegie Bosch Institute for Applied Studies in International Management and Professor of Operations Research at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He is the Founding Editor of INFORMS Online, which boasts over 25,000 web pages. He is the creator of one of the most widely used online resources about the field, "Michael Trick's Operations Research Page," which becomes part of the INFORMS website this year.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS®) is an international scientific society with over 10,000 members dedicated to applying scientific methods to help improve decision-making, management, and operations.
