Cook spent 17 years at AMR Corp., starting as Director of Operations Research for American Airlines and concluding as President of Sabre Technology Solutions, a billion-dollar software and consulting business. He is currently Chairman and CEO of CALEB Technologies Corp., an operations-research-based software company located in Austin, Texas.
His teams at American, Sabre, and CALEB have won the prestigious Edelman prize three times in the last ten years for the best application of operations research. The applications were revenue management with American Airlines, optimized scheduling for the high speed TGV trains with SNCF (the French National Railroad), and optimized real-time recovery from irregular operations with Continental Airlines.
He takes office as the INFORMS board makes a transition to a new governance that is seeing the introduction of new vice presidents and the conclusion of the terms of its current directors-at-large.
