Mark Squillante

Mark S. Squillante is a Distinguished Research Staff Member and the manager of Foundations of Probability, Dynamics, and Control within the Mathematical Sciences of IBM Research at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. He has been an adjunct faculty member in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell Tech and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University, and has received research grants from AFRL, ITA-ARL, NSF and NASA. Mark is an elected Fellow of INFORMS, ACM, IEEE and AAIA, and currently serves as editor-in-chief of Stochastic Models and chair of IFIP Working Group 7.3. His research interests broadly concern the mathematics of operations research and their broad applications. Within the INFORMS community, he has received the Daniel H. Wagner Prize and the Applied Probability Society (APS) Biennial Best Publication in Applied Probability Award; and he has served on the editorial board of Operations Research, as chair of the INFORMS George Nicholson Prize, chair of the Applied Probability Cluster, on the Advisory Board of the INFORMS Finance Section, and a member of the INFORMS Franz Edelman Award Committee. He currently serves as a member of the INFORMS Subdivisions Council, on the Board of Directors of the American Automatic Control Council as the INFORMS APS Director, on the Editorial Advisory Board of the INFORMS-Springer Book Series, and editor for Contributed INFORMS-APS Papers at the American Control Conference.
