BALTIMORE, MD, May 15, 2025 ā As automation and globalization continue reshaping the workforce, high-paying jobs in traditionally male-dominated sectors are shrinking while demand for roles in healthcare, education and other āfeminineā industries surges. But despite strong salaries and job security, men remain reluctant to enter these fields. Why? Groundbreaking new research in the INFORMS journal Organization Science has the answer ā and a solution.
BALTIMORE, MD, May 13, 2025 ā Researchers who took a close look at loosened concealed carry laws between 2010 and 2017 have found that āShall Issueā regulations, which remove local authority discretion on the issuance of concealed carry gun permits, contribute to a significant increase in handgun purchases. At the same time, the researchers found that in states that adopted āPermitless Carryā policies, there was no noticeable change in gun purchases.
